In this course we will read literature by German authors of different ethnic backgrounds, including poems, short stories, novels, autobiographies and essays by Afro-German, Turkish-German, Asian-German, and Jewish-German writers. We will discuss the current social and political conditions of multiculturalism in Germany, and learn about the legacy of antisemitism and racism in recent German history.
