Salvatore Calomino holds the Ph.D. from Harvard University and the A.B. from Columbia University. His fields of research and teaching are medieval literature and Germanic philology with a focus on Middle High German literature and language. Areas of interest are heroic and courtly epic from the 12-14th centuries, medieval drama, Middle High German dialects, and problems in manuscript transmission. His publications have also dealt with the broader context of medieval studies. Courses taught include surveys of literature to 1700, introduction to Middle High German, period or topic courses in medieval literature and philology, and seminars on medieval narrative and paleography.
