970: Databases in Historical Linguistics, 3 cr.
Lecture 2: Salmons, W 4-6pm (Van Hise 475)
Prereq: Permission of instructor
This course will be a working group built around contributing to and learning to use the Old High German database known as Project Graff. We will meet once weekly to discuss data entry, query structure and broader research strategies. Students will be expected to enter primary data, check data entered by others and produce, by the end of the semester, a research paper. (Co-authored papers are encouraged.)
